Peachtree City is a planned community about 25 miles south of Atlanta, Georgia. Although it is famous for its golf cart oriented transportation system, it is not a 55+ community - it is for people of all ages - the median age is 37.5. The population was about 38,224 in 2020. Peachtree City is actually made up of 5 separate communities: Aberdeen, Braelinn, Glenloch, Kedron, and Wilksmoor (the newest). Each has its own shopping areas, recreational facilities, and elementary schools. The Avenue is the major shopping center with stores and restaurants of all kinds as you enter the area. Residents refer to Peachtree City as "The Bubble", an acknowledgement that it is so complete, it is a world unto itself. The city's amenities include four swimming pools, a soccer complex, an ALTA-approved tennis center, baseball, softball, and football fields, a 2,000-seat amphitheater, a BMX track, a senior center, a teen center, numerous parks and playgrounds, as well as the Kedron Fieldhouse and Acquatic Center. Peachtree City is one of the largest and most successful planned communities in the world. Peachtree City is a designated Free Trade Zone. There are probably more people who are not retired who live here than retired. Many people come here to raise their families in an idyllic setting - kids growing up here refer to PC as "The Bubble". Retirees who would like an all-ages planned community with several neighborhoods (such as Cresswind Peachtree City), a senior center, aquatic center,golf courses, tennis center,a huge lake, many parks and and an amphitheater would enjoy living here. The crime rate is very low, and you can drive your golf cart anywhere in this self-contained world.
